About Me

DSC_0071 - Version 2After working in one of the state’s premier hospitals for 6 years, I’ve seen the best and worst that modern medicine has to offer. When it comes to emergency and trauma care, I’d gladly trust myself to the professionals in a level one trauma center, as they have turned this into an art form. However, when it comes to prevention and maintenance health care, modern medicine is severely lacking. People are now coming in to their doctor’s offices with medication lists that span multiple pages, and a list of doctors that covers every specialty, but they are still some of the sickest people out there. What gives?

If you’ve ever asked yourself similar questions about modern medicine, you’re in good company. I’m a registered nurse currently seeking to transition out of hospital based “sick care” into individual based wellness care. I believe everyone has the ability to drastically change their lives with the right knowledge and the right support. I completed a certification as a Registered Nurse Whole Health Educator in order to help people find their own wellness.  I’m working towards increased self-sufficiency, getting back to local foods, and eventually, homesteading.  If any of that sounds interesting to you, feel free to come along!

  1. Love your blog! I’ll be following closely on your journey, as I could have written the same things! I am an Emergency Nurse with Hashimoto’s Disease & my health came crashing down around me too. I too sought alternative medicine & believe the “sick” care of the hospital is killing us. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I’m so glad that you turned to alternative medicine for your Hashimoto’s disease. There’s an incredible amount of evidence that diet has a huge impact on Hashimoto’s and a lot of other autoimmune diseases. Thanks for your encouraging comments!

    • Absolutely! I was checking out your blog the other day and I love it. I was thinking of trying to get a blog hop together for the wellness crowd so we can all help each other out, maybe once a week or so. If you’d be interested let me know!
